Use this framework to decide whether to take a new job that has been offered to you, or to assess whether you should stay or plan to leave your current job.
1. Divide a piece of paper into 4 sections.
2. Write down the following titles and answers to the questions in each section:
Section 1 - Facts: What are the stated elements of the job? Write down the job’s expected title, salary, benefits, hours expected to work, etc.
Section 2 - Potential: What future can this job help you create? Write down where this job will lead you from a career, financial and personal perspective
Section 3 - Feelings: What is your gut feeling about the job? Write down a rating for the job on a scale of 1 to 10 (10=feel totally positive) and why
Section 4 - Concerns: How can you address the job’s challenges? Write down what worries you about the job and what you could do to minimize its impact
3. Pray for discernment about it or think about whether the job is a good fit for you based on what you wrote.
